Sensory integration is the ability to take in information through your awareness of movement through space, the senses touch, smell, taste, vision, and hearing, and then combine the resulting perceptions with preceding information, memories, and the experiences accumulated in your brain since birth. All of this sensory information is moved through your brain and processed to assist your body with taking voluntary and non-voluntary actions and at a rate that is nearly incalculable.

These delightful, intelligent, and resourceful people often have great difficulty integrating with or managing an environment that was fashioned around “normal” people so they do not get the opportunity to work in places – if only configured correctly – would allow them to capture the fruits of high paying jobs.

Costs and the effort to manipulate an environment not suited to these individuals - through pharmaceutical and occupational therapies - are hugely expensive and have very little pay back with regards to quality of life conditions.
